What is a good bootleg recipe for an after-coloring deep conditioner for hair? I regularly highlight my ain pilus, but I don't desire to keep buying the salon conditioners for after color treatment. Whatever ideas?

I know you are looking for homemade, just here is an alternative. Dr. Bronner'southward casteel soaps are mild and concentrated. I too color my hair; crimson color, (and red is the fastest to fade), and I take had no problems with this stuff. At that place are different kinds, but I like the peppermint. It gives a little tingle on the scalp. You simply use a very small amount so it lasts a long fourth dimension. You can use the soap as body launder, shampoo, and to make clean.

Bronner's web page has a note from Ms. Bronner that says it is non skillful for color treated pilus because it has a pH of 8.9 and annihilation higher up a 7.0 opens the hair follicles which allows color to release. Therefore, it is great for stripping hair as someone else replied and seemed bewildered that it was okay.

I apply peppermint castile soap to launder my hair and body when I become camping to keep bugs away. It's biodegradable and a little scrap does go a long way!

I have the same question. But I have read that a Castille soap like Dr. Bronners will strip color from colored hair. Is this not true? Delight tell me, because I take some but am afraid to utilise it for hair, since my hair is high-lighted.

Don't use the high pH. Use the babe 1 which has a close pH to hair.

Co-ordinate to Lisa Bonner, of Dr Bonners Castile soaps, Dr Bonner's castile soaps can NOT be used on color treated hair. She states many times on her blog that this volition definitely remove the color and is not to be used on color treated hair.

I use a semi-permanent hair color all over and Dr Bronner's to wash my hair 3 to 4 times per calendar week with no color loss issues. My hair is nonetheless fully covered in colour from root to tip and gloriously shiny, silky and salubrious.
